Awesome work with Abraham Lincoln as well as the White House drifting into the background. You can really tell the age showing on his face, especially when his tenure included the Civil War, ending the slave trade and, before his life was taken away, attempts on his life. (Or was it only the one time, I'm not sure?)

Either way, supreme detailing efforts considering the use of pastels, and yeah, hope to see more work like this. =)

The head reference is from well known photo ([link]) and style and colors are used from painting i think ([link])

wow such life one of the best portraits of Lincoln i have ever seen, you can really see the ware on his face from all the stress he endured in office and yet there is a gentle compassion in his eyes great no outstanding work

any time i do love pastels when they are applied well they can be every bit as dramatic and life like as oils hens why they are called pastel paints!
